A fun Circle Grid Tree Art drawing project, made with the help of an easy step by step tutorial.

Thanks once again to the amazing art of Loretta Grayson, who inspired this project. Y'all can see more of her art here: rettgrayson. This fun fall drawing project of showing a warm circumvolve tree confronting a cool grid background has been a classroom favorite for years.

I loved how Loretta's tree included a fun color lesson nearly warm and color colors. The only take hold of was the project needed to starting time with getting a background grid on the newspaper. Older students might exist able to brand their own, but younger ones would probably struggle with making ane with that many straight lines.

Materials to draw a Circle Filigree Tree

  • Pencil. The Ticonderoga make are the most reliable, brand nice dark lines when y'all demand them, and are the easiest to erase. Ownership the pre-sharpened ones will relieve busy teachers a lot of time.
  • Eraser. Large ones you tin can concord in your hand practice a much improve job than just the pencil tip erasers, particularly when erasing leftover pencil lines later tracing.
  • Black Sharpie Mark. These fine point permanent marker pens brand nice black outlines, accept a good tip for coloring, and never drain when they get wet. Use them with good ventilation and add actress paper underneath to protect your tables.
  • Prang Crayons. These are a scrap softer than other crayons then they sometimes look like oil pastels. They also have a some dainty brown shades that Crayola does not take unless you buy their larger boxes.
  • Crayola Crayons. The reliable brand that always works well. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orange and yellow colors that seem a flake richer and warmer than the ones Prang has.

How to Depict a Grid Tree

  1. Print the template on page 3.

  2. Depict two tree lines equally shown.

  3. Add a V shape inside.

  4. Describe more branches in the circumvolve.

  5. Trace with a black marker.

  6. Make full the tree with a blackness mark.

  7. Color the inside of the tree with warm colors.

  8. Color the bottom with light-green squares.

  9. Fill the sky with blue squares.
